Private capital markets are still reeling from inflation, recessionary fears, and global geopolitical tensions. While the denominator effect is constraining investors’ ability to deploy capital, they are still willing to allocate to private capital albeit in smaller ticket sizes. In 2022, Asia-focused private equity fundraising hit a new quarter low with only $2.3bn raised, but deal flow in the region has remained relatively resilient, supported by domestic liquidity.
2023 is slated to be an interesting year for the Greater China region. While geopolitical tensions and economic weakness have affected investor sentiment, China’s reopening is now well underway and boosting confidence in the region.
What do the recent changes in the macroeconomic environment mean for the global and regional alternatives industry?
The virtual event will be held in English and simultaneously interpreted in Mandarin Chinese. 本次会议将提供中文同声传译
